January 29, 2016 5 Comments

Do you wonder how people become internet famous from internet ignorant? With so much competition from different platforms and formats, how can your message ever breakthrough?

How do you stand out above all the posts and social media noise?

How do you build a following that gladly share your posts, get engaged and help your message go viral?

Natalie-Ledwell_Book2-229x300Natalie Ledwell was recently interviewed by Charmaine Hammond, for the Global Influence Building Master Class Series, and shared some of her expert advice on how to go from internet ignorant, to internet famous.

Natalie is reaching millions of people through her successful business Mind Movies, and has massive reach and online influence. What’s most astonishing about her success is, she built her incredible online presence from the ground up – before she even knew what YouTube was.

In this blog series, there are three main takeaways from Natalie’s session with Charmaine such as Goal Setting, Affiliate Marketing and Building Influence with Influencers.

Goal Setting

1.  Probably the most important and fundamental step in attaining a goal, is setting

2. Set a strong intention. What is it that makes you happy in life? What do you

want the most? By attaching your goal to a strong intention, you give yourself

more chance to see it through. Your intention is what starts the motion.

3. Don’t be afraid to set big goals. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the entire

plan laid out in front of you yet. All you need to know is the next step you need

to take in order to move in that direction.

4. Take actionable steps. Write a list on what needs to get done in order for you to reach your goal. Keep this list in a place where you can see it, as a daily reminder.

5. Keep the momentum going. Work on the smaller goals needed to attain your

larger goal. Start crossing things off the list. By attaining smaller goals and

taking steps forward to achieve your dream, you keep positive motivation to

keep you moving forward.

6. Build relationships. Surround yourself with positive people who will help you on your journey to achieve your goal.  Share your goals to your friends and family.

You will feel accountable for not following through, and family is always there to help encourage you!

Marketing Plan for New Business Owners

January 27, 2016 Leave a Comment

Have you recently started a business and not sure where to even begin with your marketing plan? Are you looking to build your reach, influence and collaborations?

natalie ledwell photoMy friend, Charmaine Hammond, had the opportunity to interview Natalie Ledwell, a Law of Attraction Expert who is now reaching millions through “Mind Movies” her TV show and Internet Presence.

According to Natalie, affiliate marketing is a great place to start because it doesn’t cost you anything! Of course there are commissions to pay out, however, those come after the sale, which makes affiliate marketing a low-risk method that is easy to start off with.

For those starting in a new business, Natalie says it’s important to choose a style of marketing that you will enjoy doing. If you’re a people’s person and have an easy time forming new relationships, then affiliate marketing is a great choice for you. Also, you’re going to want to choose only one form of marketing, get really good at it, and only then move on to other types. Spreading yourself too thin will only produce hasty results.

Natalie highly recommends starting by building your online influence so you can find the right people who want to help sell your product . Become an authority figure in your field by getting your word out through social media, e-books, blogs etc. Then find creative ways to start building your community and to grow an email list. Once you’ve collected a list of emails, start to build rapport with this group of people. She said that the best way to do this is by sharing your own personal experiences because people are always looking interested in something they can relate to; so don’t be afraid to connect on a personal level.

Once you’ve got a client list started, Natalie suggests connecting with businesses that have the same sized lists as you. When you first start out in affiliate marketing, your email database is your currency. Try a traffic swap with another business that has the same sized client list as you. It’s a great way to help promote each other without worrying about a monetary loss, and to meet new clients in the process.

You cannot be successful at affiliate marketing without a good relationships. Create meaningful relationships by offering support to those that are supporting you. Get behind someone’s campaign. Be a champion for them. This is the cycle of reciprocity. When you are helping people succeed, they will want to provide the same support for you.

In addition to building strong relationships, create occasions where you can connect with your associates on a more personal level. Natalie had the great idea to reward her top affiliates with a holiday! Not only was it a great incentive to sell more product, but it was a perfect opportunity to have everyone in the industry finally meet face to face. The event was such a success; they now host an annual meet-up for the top 50 affiliates they work with.

A jump-start for a successful business year

January 14, 2016 Leave a Comment

As an entrepreneur, do you set New Year resolutions and how do you welcome the new business year?

What process do you use to map out your success business strategy?

My friend, Charmaine Hammond, begins with a Review and Learn Process. She has four simple questions that with powerful answers, it can lead you to a helpful success clues for the following year.

1.  What went well?

2.  What was a challenge?

3.  What did I learn?

4.  What will I do differently?

Record all your answers which can be very useful as your guidance.

Use a Review and Learn Process at year end, and, at the completion of projects such as project launches, webinar series, speaking tours, etc.  The information will help you build on successes, explore solutions to challenges, and learn from the results.

Charmaine recently did a virtual class on this very topic, you can Watch the Kickstart the New Year Master Class here

Kickstarting the new year for success is also rooted in the leadership you display…

– Personally, and,

– Professionally.

“Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”  Steve Jobs.

The Review and Learn Process provides you the opportunity to measure quality and success.   From the Review and Learn Process, there are three areas you can chose to focus on in 2016 were what Charmaine referred to as the SOS model:

SSystems.  Having systems (especially for tasks that are duplicated frequently) not only helps with efficiency and time management… systems allow you to effectively delegate tasks to your team members.  P. J. Abdul Kalam says that “Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident.” Take some time to explore where systems can save you time, and increase your results.

OOperations.  In planning for the new year, reviewing your operations is important. Take time to build your team.  Ensure you dedicate time to transfer knowledge.  Lee Iacocca sums it up by saying  “In the end, all business operations can be reduced to three words: people, product, and profits.”  Take stock of these three areas, and dedicate time to each.  Your business will experience positive results.

SSponsorship and Collaboration.  Working in collaboration is an important part of our business model.  Throughout the year she collaborated with other experts and businesses, and, she also works in partnership with different corporate sponsors who supports different projects and events.  And as you move into 2016, take stock of your current collaborations, and, where there is opportunity to expand your strategic alliances, joint ventures and collaborative projects.

Are you working on projects, events and launches where sponsorship would advance your efforts?  Hopefully the answer is YES.  The key is to start now! Build relationships with prospective sponsors now for your projects in the future.

If you want to learn more about these topics, and other business strategies such as innovative online marketing strategies, mastering media, hosting your own podcast or radio/TV show, branding, and a success mindset, then you must attend the Global Influence Summit  in San Diego on February 18 and 19, 2016.

How to make your book a bestseller in 2016?

January 4, 2016 Leave a Comment

What do you think makes a best selling book?

blog7 imageHaving a great book is the first step in becoming a best selling author, and, knowing how to apply influence, relationships and social media is what helps you take your great book to a bestseller!

Whether you are writing a book, have written a book, or dream about writing one, you must understand the principles of influence and collaboration, as they are essential in creating a bestselling book. Publishers place high value on an author’ reach (the numbers of people that an author is connected with/their influence and number of champions and supporters). You see, it is the support and energy that your champions create around your platform and book that will help your book become a best seller.  Publishers know that a book will sell well when an author is actively marketing his/her book.

Give significance of taking time to write. Not only your book but compelling social media posts, articles and blogs.  With the internet we have multiple platforms for the world to learn about you, your message and your book.

The importance of knowing the “rules” of influence, and connecting with high profile influencers were one of the tips I have shared in my recent webinar with Charmaine Hammond.   You can watch and learn it here,
